Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd Reunite for a Memorable Evening

Hollywood’s biggest stars gathered last night at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to celebrate the life of The Oscars, but the real star of the evening was actor Christopher Lloyd, who reunited with his Back to the Future co star Michael J. Fox. It’s been 32 years since Fox and Lloyd first shared the screen in 1985, but the two couldn’t have looked more thrilled to be back together again at last night’s event  you can see their adorable reunion in the photo above.

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd Reunite for a Memorable Evening

I had such an amazing time working with Michael, Lloyd, who played Doc Brown in the Back to the Future trilogy said. He was so generous and patient - two qualities you don't often see together.

Chris is my brother, said Fox, who played Marty McFly in the movies (and now has Parkinson's disease). There is nobody I would rather be sitting across from than Chris.

The pair spent much of their evening discussing what it was like to work on set together back in 1985 when filming first started on Back to the Future.

We talked about how we would spend hours just waiting around on set because things were so slow then, he recalled.

They talk about what it was like to work with each other

I had the best time working with Michael, Lloyd said in an interview at the event. We're very different people, but we have similar senses of humor. The comedic duo first worked together on the 1985 film Back to the Future, where they played Doc Brown and Marty McFly, respectively.

He would come up with these lines that were so funny, Lloyd continued, gesturing to Fox's spot on stage next to him. You know how hard it is when you've got four cameras rolling.

They discuss the legacy of the show

It's so great to see all these people, I haven't seen some of them in 30 years, Michael said. I mean, it's just incredible.

The cast was visibly moved by the depth of their feelings about their characters and their experiences on the show.

When we were doing this show, it felt like the most important thing going on in the world, he said with a tearful laugh. And now to sit here with you guys and look back at it, I'm blown away by how important something feels when you're doing it.

They answer questions from fans

I think the idea of being able to show up as myself or Marty is an amazing opportunity, said Michael J. Fox, who played the character of Marty McFly in Back to the Future. It's not just about 'I'm back,' it's about coming here with my friend, Chris.

We're both very proud of what we've done but we've been through a lot since then, said Lloyd, who played Doc Brown in Back to the Future.

The two actors were asked about their favorite memories from filming together and what advice they would give someone trying to get into acting today.

They share stories about their experiences on the show

At the event, the two actors shared stories about their experiences on the show with Smith who acted as moderator. I’ve never been in anything like this before, said Lloyd when talking about meeting other cast members from the show. It was really quite extraordinary to see them all together in one place, he added. The evening was one of many events leading up to Saturday night’s showing of a newly restored episode of Back to The Future at Hollywood's Egyptian Theatre. Proceeds from ticket sales went towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and Christopher Lloyd's charity fundraiser A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's which has raised over $600,000 so far this year alone.
